You may have heard that swimming lessons were cut short today. The pool staff let us know that there was contamination in the water. They got students out of the pool as soon as they noticed, and students were all told to shower with soap. There is no cause for concern. Students returned to school about 10 minutes earlier than normal and carried on with the morning as usual.
Today's basic facts quiz was sent home with students. Please sign and return as soon as possible so we know you have seen them. Booking opens online tomorrow for student involved learning conferences. Please book a time to come discuss your child's progress on November 21 or 22. No swimming tomorrow but we are back at the pool on Monday and Tuesday. Make sure students have a bathing suit, towel, and plastic bag each day that we are swimming. November's school spirit day is on the 20th and is "reverse day" - teachers can dress as students and students can dress as teachers. Theatre field trip forms and payment are due on Friday, November 22.

This morning after ignite, we wrote our triweekly basic facts / computation quiz in math. Our overall class average went up 13% from the last quiz, which is great, but we still have lots of room for improvement so keep on practicing. Quizzes were sent home today for you to sign and return. When we were done the math quiz, we finished reading chapter 2 of our novel study and got a brief start on the chapter questions before swimming. When we got back from swimming, we had just enough time for a quick library book exchange.
