I hope you are having a wonderful long weekend. Just a few notes about the upcoming week:
- We are going to write a short (15 question) quiz on Wednesday on the poetry terms we have been studying for the past couple weeks. You will need to be able to identify rhyme schemes (ABAB, ABBA, etc.), alliteration, similes, metaphors, onomatopoeia, personification, rhythm, and a few of the forms of poetry we have practiced (couplets, tercets, cinquains, haiku, etc.). If you've been paying attention in class, you will do fine. The quiz is multiple choice and will be completed on the laptops.
- There are no new spelling words this week because it is such a short week.
- We will be practicing a few more forms of poetry this week and then we will get to work on our final poetry project which will be due at the end of the month.
- It is crazy hair day on Wednesday.
- Grade 6 vaccinations are happening on Wednesday if forms were returned.
- Fun lunch is on Thursday.
Enjoy your Monday and Tuesday off school! Whether you celebrate Thanksgiving or not, take some time to be grateful. I'm grateful for the 20 of you and for our school community at BHS. See you on Wednesday.
- Ms. Winston
